Aequilibrium and Motive.io Bring Modern Training Techniques to Ent

Last week, we were honored to be recognized by commentary leaders in the banking industry. American Banker, the essential resource for senior executives in banking and financial services with a focus on innovation, transformation and disruption, took a deep dive into our work with Motive.io to bring VR Training to Ent Credit Union.

Ent Joining a Growing List of Companies Using VR Training

For some, VR training may feel like it’s still a future vision, but, as American Banker points out, and as we at Aequilibrium know well, VR’s time is decidedly now. Especially in the realm of training.

As American Banker points out, Ent joins Bank of America and TD Bank Group who have deployed virtual onboarding tools in the past year. Keep in mind, that’s two giants in the industry who have launched VR training programs, not those that are currently in development.

VR training is also quickly becoming entrenched in other industries as well, currently being used by such leaders as Walmart, Lowes, H&R Block, UPS, Delta, The Home Depot, Johnson & Johnson, and Volvo.

Why are Financial Institutions Using VR Training?

At Aequilibrium, we know why VR Training really is an essential to many brands and businesses strategic roadmap, especially those in elevated risk industries, like mining or healthcare, and those that focus on technical and soft skills, like financial institutions and other customer service industries.

American Banker points out how VR training is more than simply more economical in terms of time and resources, but it’s also a shift toward modern sensibilities in terms of employee empathy: “front line staffers acclimate to the responsibilities of their roles — without the stressors of ‘trial by fire’ training sessions facing real customers with supervisors watching.”

As Lori Benton, vice president of learning and cultural enrichment at Ent, says, “Often with new member service representatives, they stress over wondering if they said or did the right thing during a traditional scenario-based learning session with a human [respondent]. … The really cool piece about VR is that they get to play and go down that rabbit trail basically, and figure out where their mistakes were without it being high risk.”

VR training technology also meets the younger generation of employees where they are. Benton points out: “We’re really trying to walk away from a lot of [traditional training methods] and use modern technology because the people we hire use modern technology in their day to day lives.”

How Aequilibrium is Creating Ent’s VR Training Program

Our role at Aequilibrium for VR Training is as experts in both VR technology and industry-specific use cases, like financial institutions, and even more specifically, credit unions.

As our founder and CEO Adrian Moise explains, “We develop the credit union-specific scenarios in the software, working closely with our Ent partners to understand exactly what skills to emphasize, including both technical and soft skills.”

American Banker does a great job breaking down all the technical details of how we work with Ent and Motive.io to deliver the optimal VR training experience for Ent’s leadership and their employees.
